Now in Mass production: RX8901CE / RX4901CE - compact Real-Time-Clock Modules for industrial applications

Less current consumption by 30% and expansion of number of events that can be recorded

► Zur deutschen Pressemitteilung

Munich, March 11, 2024 - The RX8901CE and RX4901CE, two new RTC (real-time clock) modules for industrial applications, are now available to order by Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "Epson").

This RTC modules are housed in a 3.2 x 2.5 x 1.0 (max.) mm package. I2C-Bus and SPI-Bus interfaces are supported by the RX8901CE and RX4901CE, respectively. Both can meet the requirements of low current consumption and tiny form factor while providing accurate timekeeping in electronic systems.

A 30% reduction in current consumption is seen in the new RX8901CE and RX4901CE compared to the RX8804CE (an older Epson RTC module) which used 0.35 µA (Typ.). The maximum number of time stamp recordings that might be retained was raised from one to thirty-two. In addition to providing an I2C-Bus interface, Epson has increased the number of interface choices by providing an SPI-Bus interface.
